Getting Started with Ambiente - An Overview
Overview: This article introduces Ambiente and explains its core purpose and capabilities. Learn how to set it up in both standalone and plugin format.
What is Ambiente?
Ambiente is a powerful Room Simulator that allows you to place any sound—whether it's a virtual instrument, a recorded track, or a live performance—into the same shared acoustic space. Unlike traditional reverb, Ambiente uses advanced acoustic modeling to calculate the precise geometric reflections of sound waves.Available as Standalone App and Plugin
Ambiente is available as both a standalone application and a plugin that integrates seamlessly into your DAW. When used as a plugin in insert mode across various tracks, it allows you to treat all sources—virtual instruments, recorded audio, or SWAM instruments—as if they were playing in the same room.Communication Between Instances
One of the key features of Ambiente is its intelligent communication between instances. Whether used as an insert in your DAW or integrated within SWAM instruments, Ambiente enables centralized control, allowing you to manage the position, microphone distance, and room properties for all sources from any instance of the plugin.
