Transition Information for New Room Simulator Ambiente
With the release of version 3.8, the SWAM instruments now feature the advanced Room Simulator "Ambiente," replacing the basic reverb from previous versions. Here's how the transition works in various scenarios:
Standalone Mode
When you open the new version 3.8 in standalone mode, the instruments will automatically start with the Room Simulator "Ambiente" active. A popup notification will inform you that the instrument is now equipped with the new Room Simulator, replacing the previous basic reverb effect. This enhancement provides a more realistic and immersive spatial audio experience.
DAW Projects
If you open a saved DAW project created with version 3.7.3 or earlier after updating to version 3.8, the instruments will start in "Legacy Reverb Mode." This mode deactivates the new Room Simulator to preserve the original sound of your project. To benefit from the new Room Simulator, it is recommended to manually switch off the Legacy Reverb Mode and activate the Room Simulator in your project settings.
Importing Presets
When importing a preset saved in version 3.7.3 or earlier into version 3.8, the instrument will start with the Room Simulator "Ambiente" active. A popup notification will alert you of this change, informing you that the new Room Simulator has been applied. If you prefer the original reverb settings, you can switch back to Legacy Reverb Mode via the settings.
Loading Presets
When loading a factory or user preset from version 3.8 that has a different room setting than the current one, the instrument will prompt you to decide whether to overwrite the current room setting with the one from the preset or keep the existing room setting. This ensures that you maintain control over your acoustic environment while utilizing the preset.
DAW Sessions
When you load a new instrument with a different room setting into a DAW session, the instrument will automatically adopt the current room setting used by other instruments in the session. This maintains consistency in the acoustic environment across your project.
Loading Room Templates
When loading a Room Template in an active DAW session, the current room setting will be replaced with the room configuration from the template. This allows for a quick and comprehensive update of your session’s acoustic environment to match the desired settings.
By understanding these transition scenarios, you can effectively manage and utilize the new Room Simulator "Ambiente" to enhance the realism and quality of your musical projects. For more detailed information and troubleshooting tips, please refer to our Knowledge Base at kb.audiomodeling.com.
