Unlike traditional synthesizers, pitch bend in a physically modeled flute does not produce a smooth glissando between notes. Instead, it triggers a harmonic transition similar to what happens when a wind player increases breath pressure beyond a threshold, causing the instrument to jump to a higher partial.
This behavior is based on acoustic reality. In a real flute, changing the pitch over a wide range is not achieved by bending the pitch continuously, but by overblowing or fingering a different note. The instrument model replicates this physical constraint.
Users can adjust the behavior of the pitch bend through the Pitch Bend Behaviour toggle in the Pitch - Master Tuning section. However, setting the behaviour to Glide like a traditional synthesizer is not recommended, as it may produce unnatural results.
