Managing the Backing Tracks Path in Camelot

v2.3.1

Camelot automatically saves imported Backing Tracks to a default location specific to your operating system. While this ensures easy access, you might want to change the storage location—especially to free up space on your device by moving tracks to an external drive or a different folder.

This guide explains:

  • The default Backing Tracks paths for macOS, Windows, and iOS.

  • How to relocate your Backing Tracks folder in Camelot.

  • Important steps to manually transfer files when changing the storage location.

By following these instructions, you can efficiently manage your storage while keeping your Backing Tracks accessible in Camelot.

Default Backing Tracks Locations

Depending on your operating system, Camelot stores Backing Tracks in the following default paths:

macOS

~/Library/Audio Modeling/Camelot/BackingTracks

Windows

%appdata%\Audio Modeling\Camelot\BackingTracks

iOS (iPad)

Files > On My iPad > Camelot > Camelot > BackingTracks

How to Change the Backing Tracks Path

If you want to move your Backing Tracks to a different location (such as an external drive), follow these steps:

  1. Locate the current Backing Tracks folder

    • Check the current path in Camelot under:
Settings > Options > Backing Tracks path

    • If you haven’t changed it before, refer to the default paths above.

  2. Select a new folder in Camelot

    • Go to Settings > Options > Backing Tracks path > Three Dots > Set Custom Path and choose a new location.

    • (Note: Camelot does not automatically move your files—you must do this manually.)

  3. Copy your Backing Tracks to the new location

    • Navigate to the old Backing Tracks folder.

    • Copy all files (or the ones you want to keep) to the new folder.

  4. Restart Camelot

Important Notes

  • Always back up your Backing Tracks before moving them.

  • If you switch from a custom path, remember to copy files from that specific folder.

  • External drives must remain connected for Camelot to access the tracks.

By following these steps, you can optimize storage without losing access to your Backing Tracks in Camelot.
