What is PolySWAM?
PolySWAM was born from a simple question: why not create a new instrument that retains all the power and expressiveness of SWAM instruments, but is also capable of covering polyphonic needs, all in a simple-to-use package?
SWAM instruments use advanced physical modeling to replicate the exact physics of acoustic instruments. Because they mirror the real world, they are inherently monophonic: you cannot play chords or complex arrangement layouts in real time.
PolySWAM changes that by embedding the core physical modeling engines of all 37 SWAM instruments into a specialized polyphonic environment.
To deliver seamless polyphony without the extreme programming complexity of individual physical models, PolySWAM manages the instrument engines entirely under the hood. While it does not replace the deep, individual parameter editing found in the dedicated SWAM Solo lines, it gives you immediate, performance-ready access to their unmistakable realism and organic response—fully optimized for rich chords, massive multi-instrument stacks, and live ensembles.
Who is PolySWAM for?
PolySWAM is designed to meet the needs of a diverse range of modern musicians:
- Composers and Producers: It is the ultimate tool for those who want to create orchestral sketches with an experience and audio quality never seen before. During the sketching phase, composers need polyphonic tools to instantly bring an idea to life —without having to fiddle with countless keyswitches and tedious programming.
- Live Performers: It is built for musicians who want to bring an unprecedented, massive sound to the stage. Because live performances do not allow for overdubbing, PolySWAM gives keyboardists the ability to create a highly credible orchestral performance using just their ten fingers.
Musicians Seeking Intuitive Playability: It is aimed at players who want a pure, expressive instrument without technical distractions on stage or in the studio. Instead of managing complex articulation triggers or technical parameters mid-performance, PolySWAM lets you simply put your hands down and play.
- Expressive Players: The instrument allows you to play dynamically—changing execution techniques and working with expression and macros—without ever interrupting your creative flow or the performance itself.
- Students, Teachers, and Schools: It serves as a powerful educational instrument that provides students and instructors with the immediacy of real-time sketching, without compromising on academic and acoustic integrity. Driven by 37 integrated synthesis engines that strictly respect the physical behavior and realism of true acoustic instruments, it offers an intuitive yet pedagogically accurate way to study orchestration, and arrangement techniques.
