PolySWAM runs multiple highly complex physical modeling engines simultaneously in real time. Because it relies entirely on physical modeling synthesis rather than sample playback, it requires significant processing power, particularly multicore performance.
Below are the minimum and recommended system requirements for the PolySWAM Beta.
macOS / Apple Silicon
The requirements for macOS are well-defined and strictly focus on modern Apple architectures:
Minimum OS: macOS 11 (Big Sur) or higher
Minimum Hardware: Apple Silicon M1 processor (or higher)
Recommended Hardware: Apple Silicon M3 processor (or higher) for optimal voice distribution and lowest latency.
Note: Intel-based Macs are not supported at this time.
Windows
Because Windows configurations vary wildly, official performance boundaries are still being evaluated during this Public Beta phase. We need your help to test and map out Windows performance!
Operating System: Windows 11 is officially supported.
Hardware Specifications: High-performance, modern multi-core systems are required. Your CPU should provide processing power comparable to Apple Silicon performance standards.
Audio Drivers: A dedicated audio interface with reliable, high-performance ASIO drivers is mandatory to achieve workable latencies without audio dropouts.
