PolySWAM is compatible with any standard MIDI keyboard, allowing for immediate integration into your setup. However, to fully exploit the organic expressiveness provided by the physical modeling engine, we highly recommend using hardware that offers deeper control capabilities:
Continuous Controllers: To achieve the highest level of realism, it is recommended to use controllers equipped with physical continuous controls, such as:
Faders and Knobs: Perfect for real-time manipulation of the Conductor’s macros and mix parameters.
Expression Pedals: Essential for fluid, hands-free control of expression intensity.
Breath Controllers: Highly recommended for woodwind and brass ensembles to achieve natural, breath-based dynamic evolutions.
Aftertouch: Master keyboards featuring Channel Aftertouch or Polyphonic Aftertouch are ideal for adding nuanced modulation and expressive dynamics during your performance.
By assigning these physical controls to PolySWAM’s Conductor and macros, you can bridge the gap between "programming" and "performing," transforming your MIDI performance into a living, breathing orchestral experience.
Polyphonic Aftertouch and MPE are not supported yet.
