What are Preset Scenes and how to use them?

Modified on Thu, 9 Jul at 4:32 PM

Preset Scenes are alternative tonal snapshots stored within the same preset. They allow you to explore different sonic characteristics without changing the underlying ensemble configuration.

How they work

While the ensemble of instruments remains the same, a variation can drastically alter the sound by modifying specific parameters:

  • Acoustic Space: Change the dimensions or characteristics of the acoustic room.

  • Mixer Balance: Adjust the volume levels between the instruments in the ensemble.

  • Equalization: Apply different EQ curves to shape the overall frequency response.

  • Conductor Macros: Update the assignments or values of the Conductor’s macro controls to shift the performance dynamics.

How to use them

You can switch between these variations instantly using the Preset Browser. Simply navigate to the desired ensemble, and select the preferred variation from the list to update your sound in real-time.

Note: In the context of upcoming software updates, "Variations" may be referred to as Scenes in the interface, offering a consistent way to manage these snapshots of your ensemble settings.
