How does the Preset Browser work?

Modified on Thu, 9 Jul at 2:41 PM

The Preset Browser is the central hub for managing your orchestral configurations. While it is currently in its initial phase, it is designed to evolve into a comprehensive tool for navigating your sound library, with future Beta 2 updates bringing advanced filtering and tagging capabilities.

Current Layout

The browser is structured into three main columns:

  • Collection: Displays your available sound libraries and collections.

  • Preset (Ensemble Formations): Shows the available orchestral formations within the selected collection.

  • Information & Scenes: The third column provides details about the selected Ensemble and lists the Scenes available for that specific formation.

Understanding Scenes (formerly Variations)

Scenes represent all the variations of a given Ensemble formation. A Scene captures a specific "snapshot" of the ensemble's settings, including:

  • Spatialization: The specific Room chosen and the layout of instruments within that space.

  • Mixer & EQ: The current balance and equalization settings.

  • Effects: Any applied dedicated effects.

Future Functionality (Beta 2)

In the upcoming Beta 2 release, the browser will be enhanced with:

  • Advanced Filtering & Tagging: Powerful tools to quickly locate specific sounds based on criteria like ensemble type, mood, or instrumental makeup.
  • Save Functionality: You will be able to customize an ensemble to your liking and save those specific configurations as your own custom Scenes using the new SAVE button.
